
The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service is holding Nurse Executive Leadership Course training.
The training will be June 13th – June 17th, 2011 at the Ramkota Hotel located in Rapid City, SD.
COURSE GOAL:
To develop strong key nurse management and leadership that enables nurses to adequately perform their duties and responsibilities.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Directors of Nursing, Directors of Public Health Nursing, Nurse Supervisors, Nurse Managers, Performance Improvement Personnel, Nurse Educators, Staff Nurses, Public Health Nurses & Nursing Students.
OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Provide a medium for the exchange of ideas and disseminating materials relative to nursing leaders in hospitals, clinics and public health nursing.
- Disseminate information on the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) to nursing, nursing management and senior leadership.
- Provide education, guidance, and direction on administrative processes and management responsibilities to enhance decision-making skills.
- Provide continuing education to enhance nursing competencies which will improve standards of practice within Indian Health Service.
- Provide guidance to nurse leaders and managers regarding nursing performance improvement activities in relation to the provision of quality patient care, treatment, services, and patient safety; thereby promoting positive patient outcomes.
