Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service came to KAT for a high impact piece to raise community awareness of the problem of gang violence in Indian Country and offer solutions for intervention at the local level. Taking Back Our Communities: Gang Prevention Strategies in Tribal Communities is an interactive DVD-ROM that takes a harsh look at gang violence and gives community members viable tools they can use to stop it. The culturally engaging piece draws on the experience of both experts in the field and ordinary concerned citizens that offer hope and empowerment to communities ready to take action and regain their youth.
